MEET OUR FOUNDER

Welcome!

My name is LeAnn “LeLe” Drake and I'm a licensed cosmetologist and educator with over 15 years’ experience.

My passion for hair started when I was 7 years old. I had long thick hair and was tender-headed. I was always styling my doll's hair because I was underwhelmed by how others styled my hair.

I was self-taught and learned to braid and straighten my own hair with a pressing comb. Soon, I became the go-to braider amongst my family and friends.

Back then, there was no license needed to braid hair. However, in 2009 it became a requirement and one of the best decisions I ever made was to attend Empire Beauty school and my professional journey began.

While in cosmetology school I learned so much about hair styling!
My clinic floor instructor encouraged me to become an educator and upon graduating I returned a month later to attend the cosmetology educator program. My desire to educate and inspire became my new passion.

Through hard work, building relationships with my peers, and being dedicated to my clients I have over the years carved a respectful space as a stylist, educator and business owner in my community.

My hope is that Fusion Hair & Braid Academy can empower you to kickstart your career and to take you to places you could never have dreamed of!
